Will the conflict over aerodynamics still exist in 2023? Ducati & Aprilia dominate the Sepang Test up to ninth place!
The Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia hosted the MotoGP test. Ducati's impetus, which was strong in 2022, is still present. It appears that domestic manufacturers are still having trouble producing results in time attack, since they keep repeating different experiments.

It has been three days since the official rider Sepang test concluded. Ducati demonstrated its overall speed on the third day, while Ducati & Aprilia demonstrated overwhelming speed on the fourth day. Italians dominated up until ninth place as a result. The 2022 champion, Francesco Bagnaia, finishes the 2023 model Desmosedici with his new partner Andrea Dovizioso in the lead vehicle (4th place). Aleix Espargaro finished sixth, and Maverick Vinales from the Aprilia factory finished third.
Honda's Mark Marquez finished in 10th place but said harshly, "It's not a machine that can aim for the title currently." Four test vehicles appear to have been constructed by Honda for Marquez. The Yamaha's max speed has increased to some extent. Fabio Quartararo, who was only 19th, managed to complete the most laps on this day, 63. Alex Marquez, who switched from Honda to Ducati, is the rider that adapted to the change in vehicle manufacturer the quickest since 2022. In comparison to his time at the Sepang test from the previous year, he recorded a faster time of 1 minute 58.385 seconds, placing him ninth.
Alex Rins and Joan Mir, who switched from Suzuki to Honda, appear to be arriving later though. Luca Marini recorded the day's quickest time, which was 1 minute, 57.889 seconds. Additionally, Marini practised the season-opening Saturday sprint race. The team's statements on Takashi Nakagami, who was ranked 21st, indicate that his condition does not appear to be getting any better. The following test will be conducted in Portimao, Portugal, the location of the first race. The 11th and 12th of March will be the dates.

Honda has changed its muffler maker from SC to Akrapovic. KTM has changed its oil maker from Motorex to Mobil 1. Both mufflers are long.
"Honda used both carbon and aluminum swingarms in 2022, but it seems that aluminum will be the main choice for 2023. Although the aluminum swingarms were made by Carelles in 2022, it appears that they are testing swingarms that are not made by Carelles in 2023. There also seems to be testing of multiple types of frames and engines."

MotoGP ended the third day with the top time by Luca Marini, who is in his third year. The second half of the 2022 season was clearly a good match between bike and rider, so it's exciting.
